How to install additional fonts?

You can install additional fonts using the CLI or GUI.

Installing the system-wide fonts for all users using CLI

To install system-wide fonts using CLI you copy the font files to a directory for example ‘extra’ in /usr/share/fonts:

sudo install -m 644 -Dt /usr/share/fonts/extra /path/to/source-font-dir/*

Install fonts using GUI

In Plasma you go to menu ‘System Settings’

Click ‘Font Management’

Click ‘Add’ then select the font(s) to install. You will be asked where to install the fonts:

Click ‘Personal’ if you want to install your own fonts, ‘System’ if you want to install system-wide fonts for all users.
